Q: How Do You Use A Mylar Flogger?

Q: How do you use a mylar flogger? (Or a nerve brush? Or any other Indirect or conductive violet wand toy?)

mylar flogger

The three basic techniques for violet wand use were standardized back in the mid 2000s by the Violet Wand Guild, because up till that point in time there wasn’t the tools invented yet to do them. After my genius husband Dralion invented the body contact cable, it opened up a world of new techniques for violet wands.  The International Violet Wand Guild decided what to call those new techniques.

We have descriptions of the basic techniques in our primer articles and manuals, but that’s not the only place to find it. The three basic techniques are now covered by every website about violet wands, and every violet wand educator,  because the three basic techniques are where you start. Basic violet wand information is easily found anywhere so we don’t usually answer individual queries on how to do a basic technique. Even though we wrote the original techniques, it was our mission 20 years ago to set that new information free, and after promoting it and training demonstrators who went on to train others, and after writing about it for so long….we are happy to say it is out there freely.  You can even find videos. We set it loose into the wild and many people have train it, educate it, have expanded on it, and have developed tips and tricks that will benefit you, so seek them out!

The three basic techniques are DIRECT, INDIRECT and REVERSE. DIRECT is when you apply the net discharge current of a violet wand directly from the wand to your bottom partner..with an electrode in between. If you need to know about DIRECT, you can find that in our primer since that’s the first technique. Then you graduate to INDIRECT.  INDIRECT and REVERSE techniques require a body contact cable or probe.

For INDIRECT, you plug one end into the wand, and hold onto the other with your hand, (or tuck it against your body) and you turn on the wand. The current passes through you first. Then whatever you pick up, like a mylar flogger, becomes electrified and you can use it on someone to make sparks. FACE IT:  You are going to get shocked when you use a violet wand.

electric shock Even as the top partner. This is good for you, since you will learn your violet wand. If you are afraid of getting shocked yourself, you’ll have to get over it — but as you get good with your current management, you will figure out how to avoid getting shocked the same way that you would learn how to avoid letting the flogger tails on a leather flogger hit you on the flyback.  PRACTICE makes perfect.  I can’t help you with getting good with your current management— practice only comes with practice.

So you have your violet wand turned on, and your body contact probe in your hand, and you go to pick up the mylar flogger. and you get shocked. (You can use a footswitch to avoid it, but many tops dont bother as they are used to the feel of the wand’s spark, or enjoy it themselves.) Now your mylar flogger is electrified. The current is coming from the wand, through the Body Contact Cable, through you, and to the mylar flogger. And now you are going to use the mylar flogger to spark to someone else. It is up to you to figure out how to use it to get the results you want. I dont know what you want to do with it–whether you want to have light tingles or horrible hot sparks. You’ll have to play with your wand settings, and your wand setups, and your flogging techniques that you develop to your liking. swish it around, or stroke it, or lightly dance the tips. You have to experiment. There is no one way to use a violet wand or a violet wand accessory.   You’ll figure out how to get the results you want as you practice.

REVERSE: You can free up your hands by attaching the end of the body contact cable to your bottom partner instead of holding it yourself. They will still feel the sparks the same way as if you were SENDING the sparks to them.

It doesn’t have to be a mylar flogger. Anything conductive will do. A handful of Christmas garland. A shrimp fork. A throwing knife. Silly metallicized plastic fairy wands.  GO and explore! The only limit to a violet wand is your own imagination.
